Sleeping Under The Stars

Experience a unique and tranquil night under the stars. Wake in nature where the only sound is gentle birdsong. This is way nomadic Bedouins tradionally lived, travelling the desert with their camels and livestock. Many prefer to continue to sleep in the desert rather than in the village to this day.

There are a variety of locations we use for outside camping. We have a large clean 'cave' which is high in Jebel Um Rashid. This location offers spectacular views down the valley across the desert. The sky view is huge, offering a magical stargazing experience. We call it our "Falcon's Nest".

Lower down the valley we have second 'cave' formed natually in the sandstone rock by years of wind erosion. We call this "Shooting Stars" as the incredible views to the wide starlight sky are breath taking.

Or we can travel deeper in to the desert wilderness of Wadi Rum. This region is remote with only nature for company. It is rare to come across any other tourists here. This quiet and untouched area offers fantastic hiking, scrambling and climbing.

A Typical Evening Under The Stars

Wherever you camp, a typical evening is spent watching the sunset, then sitting together around an open fire.
We relax, talking about Bedouin life and culture, and watch the stars. Your meal will be cooked in the traditional Bedouin style over an open fire. Bedouin tea and bottled mineral water are plentiful.
We provide mattresses and blankets to ensure you stay warm in the cooler desert nights. All you need to do is lie back and take in this wonderous and unique experience.
In the morning we will prepare breakfast for you over the fire.
